23.07.2009 Press-release by Ansaldo

Ansaldo Energia, a Finmeccanica [FNC IM; SIFI.MI] company leader in the supply of components and services for power generation plants, has signed a contract with Sorgenia to build a “turnkey” 800 MW combined-cycle power station in the municipality of Aprilia (Latina); Ansaldo Energia was also assigned the multi-year maintenance contract for the gas turbines and related generators. The acquisition of these new orders is in line with expectations. Ansaldo Energia’s backlog is around 4 billion euro.

This is the second order that Sorgenia — Italy’s leading private operator in the national electricity and gas market — has placed with Ansaldo Energia, which further strengthens relations between the two companies. The configuration of the new plant is based on 2+1 module with two V94.3A gas turbines and a steam turbine designed and manufactured at Ansaldo Energia’s production facilities.
