Florence, Italy Meeting Examines Worldwide Energy Realities, Advanced Technologies and Trends across the Spectrum of Energy Needs Everywhere—from Emerging to Mature Economies
The builders and planners of the world’s changing energy landscape are meeting this week to share ideas, consider strategies and collaborate on a roadmap to a secure energy future. GE’s (NYSE: GE) Global EPC Summit is connecting thought leaders from top engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) companies, energy agencies and GE for open and frank discussions on how we can best work together to power a cleaner, more productive planet.
EPC companies lead the construction of most of the new power plants built around the world each year. GE is teaming its technology, engineering and automation with proven EPC partners to address the growing energy challenges that confront industries, utilities and governments throughout the world.
“How we make, move and consume energy is changing throughout the world, and energy realities, needs and potentials vary widely across the globe,” said Magued Eldaief, executive director, Energy accounts at GE Energy. “Bringing together experienced, worldwide thought leaders to share ideas, successes and potential pitfalls will help us better focus our resources and thinking on the right solutions for myriad energy challenges and opportunities.”
Featured speakers at the event include Ambassador Richard Jones, deputy executive director of the International Energy Agency, who will outline the Agency’s Global Energy Perspective. Jim Long, managing director of private investments at Ecofin, will address financing power projects.
Executive leadership from GE, several EPC companies and utilities will share strategies and solutions for demand challenges, shifting energy demographics, technology alternatives and sustainability. GE executives sharing in the discussion include Steve Bolze, CEO of Power & Water for GE Energy, and Dan Heintzelman, GE Energy’s CEO of Oil & Gas.
“There’s power in collaboration and a shared understanding of our energy needs everywhere,” said Keiran Coulton, president, Global Industries, GE Energy. “We’re using GE’s global reach and strong industry relationships to help set a common direction for a secure future, with all the energy we need, wherever we need it.”
The Summit is taking place October 4-5 in Florence, Italy.
